Echinacea
SUNDAY IN THE GARDEN/ AUGUST 9TH, 2020
Today we are going to dive back into the herb garden and look at Echinacea an herb that you might recognize from looks alone.
Echinacea, also known as the cone flower, is a common herb in North America and is part of the Daisy family.
There are many believed health benefits to Echinaceas. They are believed to stimulate the immune system, fighting off colds before you even get them. It is considered to be helpful for colds, toothaches and burns and external sores.
With its antiseptic properties Echinacea has been used historically to treat wounds and rattlesnake bites!
One warning that comes with the use of this herb is that it has been known to cause sometimes severe allergic reactions, so be careful when using it for the first time!
